It’s Tuesday… yoga night for me and after two morning runs in a row I’ll be looking forward to the stttrrretch!
The weekend was happy and chilled out as anticipated. The farm market was delish… check out my fresh and tasty falafel wrap!
And look at these wonderful home baked goods!
While wandering around the food stalls I came across the Méleon Olive Oil stand. I’m a sucker for good olive oil and I use buckets of balsamic vinegar so I stopped for a chat… and a taste.
Méleon bring the delicious tastes of olive oil, vinegars and olives all the way from Crete. The first bottle of extra virgin olive oil was brought to Ireland in 2010 and their products have only grown in popularity since. Méleon are proud winners of a Great Taste 2013 Award for their Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil, which really does taste velvety and luxurious.
I often use balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing and couldn’t resist a bottle of their Balsamic & Petimezi Vinegar. A Cretan speciality, petimezi is a natural sweetner made from grape must and added to the vinegar it creates a complex and delicious sweet/sour flavour. Can’t wait to try it on my salads.
Speaking of winners, you might remember I wrote about a delicious gluten free fruit bread that I discovered at Taste of Dublin. Well, Hanna’s Secret has also won a Great Taste Award. If you get the chance, do try some of her bakes, they are divine. I love to hear of smaller producers achieving success like this!
Oooh, I’m now on season 2 of 24 (there may have been a little bit of a marathon sofa session on Sunday) and it seems even better than season 1 – yippee AND Homeland is back next month.
Is the weather hot where you are? Keep a look out for a yummy summer recipe coming your way soon. Any guesses?
I haven’t been sponsored for my opinions, the vinegar and gluten free bread really are that good!
